Co-founded by Henri Leconte and backed by Le Royal Luxembourg, the Car Avenue Invitational Golf Cup by Henri Leconte & Friends is held each year on Le Domaine de Belenhaff in Junglinster.
There are, in fact, many high-level sportsmen who play golf. Rafael Nadal, for example, is an excellent golfer. It is an entertaining sport, just like tennis, but more demanding. The ball does not move… Much harder to control!
The Car Avenue Invitational Golf Cup by Henri Leconte & Friends was born of an encounter with the teams of Golf Planet Events. In Luxembourg, there was then no tournament combining personalities and amateurs, united in a spirit of sharing and conviviality. In previous years, we had counted on Les Frères Taloche, Bruno Saby, Marc Maury, and Gwendolyn Gourvenec.
We enjoy the privilege of playing on the Golf de Luxembourg, one of the country’s most beautiful courses, nestling between the forest of Grünewald and Luxembourg’s “Little Switzerland”. But beyond that aspect, the tournament – taking place on September 23rd, 2025, in its 5th edition – also supports the Kriibskrank Kanner Foundation which assists sick children and their families.
I have been staying there for years. Its prestige, service and location are remarkable. I hold many meetings there. I also love its incredible cigar cellar and its sublime terrace. It seemed obvious to me to invite the hotel to become our partner, and I am delighted that it joined this adventure. In particular, we hold the pre-tournament evening there, bringing together all the event’s partners and participants.
Le Royal Luxembourg is the ideal starting-point for discovering the capital. Take the Grand-Rue to reach the Grand Duke’s Palace and walk down to the Grund, one of the town’s oldest neighbourhoods, listed in UNESCO’s World Heritage.
